Managing structural calculations and regulatory compliance, previously reliant on desktop tools or fragmented processes, required modernization to ensure greater safety and execution speed. The goal was to create a shared digital ecosystem that eliminated the risks associated with using outdated client software or decentralized files.
Goals
The main challenge lay in centralizing complex technical data into a system accessible to both internal staff and external design firms. It was essential to allow precise input of project configuration parameters—hierarchically structured into lots, spans, and beams-while simultaneously ensuring the protection of company know-how through strict access policies.
To address these needs, we built a custom web application that functions as both a calculation engine and a centralized archive. Thanks to this solution, the client has moved away from decentralized file management to embrace a high-reliability cloud workflow. This shift has drastically reduced the margin for human error and improved collaboration among the various stakeholders in the design supply chain.
Cloud Centralization and Data Security
The transition from locally installed software to a centralized cloud infrastructure is the heartbeat of this project. We designed a scalable architecture that guarantees high service reliability and operational continuity.
This approach definitively eliminates issues related to file versioning or the use of obsolete software on individual users' computers. Through an advanced system of policies and permissions, each user views and modifies only the projects within their remit, ensuring maximum confidentiality and integrity of sensitive project data.
Calculation Engine and Automated Regulatory Checks
The true value of the platform lies in its powerful internal calculation engine. The application does not merely collect data; it actively processes technical information regarding measurements, materials, and current regulations.
By entering configuration parameters, the system performs real-time compliance checks required for prefabricated structures. This automation reduces waiting times and provides immediate feedback to the designer, who can view the results through clear and immediate representative graphs, transforming complex calculations into intuitive visualizations.
Integration with External Design Software
To further optimize workflow times and reduce manual data entry, we implemented intelligent import functionalities.
The platform communicates with design programs already in use at technical firms, allowing for the direct import of geometric and structural data.

Document Generation and PDF Reporting
Once the configuration and verification phase is complete, the platform manages the final output of the technical work. With a simple command, the system automatically compiles all necessary documentation, generating PDF files ready for sharing or printing.
The documents produced are standardized, professional, and contain all technical details and graphs processed by the calculation engine. This functionality frees professionals from the burden of manual report formatting, allowing them to focus exclusively on design quality.
Modern User Experience (UX) for Complex Data
Technical software often lacks usability, becoming an obstacle for the end user.
In this project, we applied modern UI design principles to simplify the management of complex hierarchies such as lots, spans, and beams.
The interface, developed with Vue.js, offers a reactive and fluid experience, similar to that of the best consumer apps but applied to an industrial context. This ease of use reduces the learning curve for new users and minimizes the possibility of operational errors during parameter input.
Laravel and Vue for Performance and Scalability
The robustness of the backend is entrusted to Laravel, a framework that allows us to manage complex business logic with high standards of security and maintainability.
For the frontend, the choice of Vue.js ensures interactivity and response speed, which are essential when manipulating graphs and large volumes of data in real-time.
This technological combination, combined with a custom-designed cloud architecture, guarantees that the application can grow over time, accommodating new features or a larger number of users without compromising performance.
